From 1996 to 1999 the European Commission supported the ‘Establishment of a European Database Network’ through the BIOMED-2 Programme. With the help of this funding, France, Germany, the Netherlands and Sweden established the Euroethics Health Network (EHN), a standardised labour-dividing European information and database network on biomedical ethics. National databases have been joined together into the unified European Database on Medical Ethics EUROETHICS. The database currently comprises over 10,000 documents and registers around 1000 hits per month
